Tom Townsend is a talented multi-instrumentalist-recently picking up the Gold Award for Best Local Musician in Scarborough 2015. He has been involved in the music industry for over 20 years having first picked up the guitar with purpose at the age of nine and, with his father’s help, learned to play. Soon it was drums that grabbed Tom and he found himself absorbed in all kinds of music from blues to hip-hop, drum & bass to jazz and beyond, One thing is without doubt- Tom is exciting to see or hear in any incarnation!

Contemporary folk/acoustic duo Gilmore & Roberts combine award-winning songwriting with astounding musicianship and their trademark harmonies to create a powerful wall of sound. Nominated three times at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Katriona Gilmore Jamie Roberts released their debut album in 2008.
Since then, the duo have toured Canada and mainland Europe, played some of the UK’s biggest acoustic festivals, toured with folk rock legends Fairport Convention and won countless accolades for their genre-spanning work.

The band might be new, but it’s fair to say Tom Mitchell and his cohorts in The Borrowed Band – Mark Anderson & Michael Bailey – have been around the musical block.
Together and apart they’ve performed all over the shop, sharing stages with the likes of Mark Knopfler, The Lindisfarne Story Band, The Caffreys, Tarras, The Sunday for Sammy Band and a host of others.
Crossing paths more often than not, Tom, Mark & Michael’s mutual love of playing great songs has resulted in the formation of The Borrowed Band. Performing across the North East and beyond, there’ll be guitars, piano, bass, harmonies.
