Edwina Hayes, Carrie Martin & Lucy Marshall
Jun 4 @ 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm

We’re proud to host three regional singer/song writers that have all played separately at The Processed Pea but here they are together playing their own sets.

Edwina Hayes

Edwina’s beautifully written songs, charming stage presence and voice of an angel have won her a reputation as a true natural talent of gentle folk-Americana. She has opened numerous shows for Jools Holland and Van Morrison as well as her own gigs playing stages everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to The Royal Albert Hall. Edwina numbers Michael Parkinson and Mike Harding among her fans and the title track of her album Pour Me A Drink was covered by Nanci Griffith who calls her ‘the sweetest voice in England’.

Carrie Martin

Carrie Martin is a British acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter from Hull in Yorkshire. Having given up music to raise a family she returned to writing, playing and singing encouraged by the noted acoustic guitarist Gordon Giltrap – she cites her meeting Gordon as the most important thing that has happened to her in her musical career. Her guitar playing has attracted sufficient attention for her to be recruited as an endorsee by Vintage guitars. Influenced by the likes of Eva Cassidy and Ann Wilson from Heart, her writing and performing style nevertheless defies categorisation.

Lucy Marshall

Lucy Marshall is a 20 year-old acoustic singer-songwriter from Hull. Her eclectic mix of covers and original material was first brought to people’s attention when she started performing at only 15. Lucy has supported several well known artists such as Lucy Ward, The Long Notes, Roddy Woomble and Chantel McGregor, as well as playing at well established festivals including the Main Stage at Cornucopia, Cambridge Rock and Blues, The Great British Blues Festival and The Great British Folk festival, of which she packed out the skyline stage, late last year.

Chris Martin & Scott Wainwright supported by Deadwood & Wire @ The Light Dragoon

Due to illness of one of the members of the Swamp Dogs we now have a slight change of plan.

Chris Martin & Scott Wainwright will now be performing as our headline artists and what a pair they are!!  They say they are two men on a journey to a certain place, without a map, without a way back, but hope in their hearts and a smile on their faces.  We can expect to hear good time blues, hopeful gospels, wonderful folk songs and incredible stories, which are bound to make us laugh.

Supported by equally fabulous Deadwood & Wire (who are immensely talented musicians) entertaining us with a celebration of country songs, Americana and well know hits performed in their very own style

Late Night Marauders @ The Light Dragoon

Late Night Marauders are led by whirlwind soulstress Ruthie Scott and the piano wizardry of James Wood. Raised on a steady diet of classic RnB and jazz standards Ruthie developed a deep love for Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Etta James and Tom Waits to name a few. Hooking up with James their songs evoke visions of smokey basement clubs in the 1950’s where beatniks and jazzheads would party. They are now a full band with added rhythm and horn section their unique blend of soul, R’n’B and boogie is an irrepressible delight
